Q–switched laser
Characteristics:
- Wave length – 1064 and 532 nm. This emission is absorbed much more effectively by the pigment substances – “targets” (these are the colorants – in the tattoos, the melanin in hyperpigment lesions, the haemoglobin in the damaged by the age capillary), than the skin itself.
- Emits impulses with extremely short duration, which allows reaching of huge peak power;
- Regardless the high peak power, the impulses bring low energy, which determines the lack of damaging for the surrounding skin – i.e. the treated area is not heated.
- The specifically chosen length, the high peak power and the low energy of the impulses allow very effective and selective impact on the pigment substances – “targets” without traumatising the skin.
