What are the vessel alterations of the skin?
The vessel alterations of the skin are the small capillary or venous nets, of the nose, the cheeks, the chin, and the vessel malformations of the lower limbs and the other parts of the body, as excessively strong distinction of subdermal and intradermal veins, red and bluish capillary nets.
What are the causes of such dermal alterations?
These are usually hereditary predispositions, illness of the cardiovascular system, traumatic consequences and such from operations. Apart from the above mentioned the varicose disease along with the pregnancy and child-birth are main factors for the development of vessel alterations of the feet skin.
What are the existing methods for blood vessel removal?
Traditional methods are limited to executing electrocoagulation, sclerotherapy and surgical destruction of the veins and the blood vessels. All these methods have serial essential disadvantages such as hyperpigmentation, pypopigmentation (the skin pigmentation extinction), allergy reactions in sklerotherapy to the introduced medicine.
The most effective method for treating the blood vessels is the so called Nd: YAG-lasers. The emission of this type of lasers allows to influence effectively the extended capillaries, the starlike hemangioma and the small dermal venous nets without damaging other structures.
What is the laser removal of blood vessels procedure?
The therapeutic influence of the lasers is based on the unique qualities that the laser light has to interact with the treated tissue. With the laser removal of unaesthetic blood vessels, using the unique technology of 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, a light impulse is delivered, which energy is devoured by the blood hemoglobin. The energy is transformed into heat which causes blood coagulation and peculiar “welding” of the unwanted blood vessel’s walls. Thisleadstoitsdestruction. So the blood flow is redirected to veins that are deep under the skin surface.
Which vessels are suitable to be treated with Nd:YAG laser?
These are the visible with a naked eye separate or net-forming capillaries of body and face, spiderlike veins with diameter up to 1,5 mm, leg veins from 1 till 3 mm, innate or obtained hemangiomas etc.
What is the feeling like during the procedure?
Most commonly patients characterise it as a slight pinprick. The presence of special cooling system reduces the unpleasant feeling and prevents the healthy skin from warming up.
What is the duration of the procedure?
It depends on the number and the density of the vessels treated. Let us take the starlike hemangiom as an example – the treatment lasts seconds. This is not the case when treating the multitude of the lower limbs capillaries and more time is required.
How many procedures are required?
The number of the procedures depends on the type, the colour, the configuration and the number of the vessels. Often, up to two procedures are enough to gain a result, as the second one is executed in at least 3 to 4 weeks after the first procedure. In cases with multiple vessels forming capillary nets it is possible that more than two procedures are assigned. However, avisiblereductionofthecapillariesisnoticed after each procedure.
When are there visible results from the procedure?
Every person has his own individual characteristics. When treating the common cases of a single blood vessel (eg. one of the nostrils) or stars, in 2-3 weeks time the vessels disappear. The result in multiple vessels comes gradually with every following procedure.
Are there any consequences after such a procedure?
Immediately after the procedure, in the zone of treatment, a slight redness with an insignificant swelling is observed for a day or two. The blood vessel itself, grows dark after the treatment and in 2, 3 to 4 weeks time it resorbs form the organism and vanishes. It is obligatory that after the procedure you use a sunprotection cream, especially during the hotter part of the year, so as to avoid hyprpigmentation. A correction make-up might be used over the zone of treatment.
Do the blood vessels and stars appear again in time?
The treated vessels do not appear again but if there is predisposition, it is possible that new vessel around the treated zones appear. They could also be treated.
